COVID Mutant Monitoring labs installed at White City Place
Biotechnology company OpenCell, with existing operations in White City, designed and manufactured the units within shipping containers with a custom workflow for COVID diagnostics. They have shipped a number of the same units internationally and provide airport PCR testing for the Isle of Jersey.
Brand new location for homeless bus shelter charity in Milton Keynes has been confirmed
The new site and innovative sleeping pod increases the number of bed spaces for The Bus Shelter MK guests to nine and provides more suitable facilities for any women guests, which was challenging in the communal sleeping arrangements on the bus. The charity continues to welcome dogs and will now be able to follow the guidance of The Dogs Trust in allowing a dog to sleep with their owner rather than in a separate kennel.

The homeless bus offered a safe space for people to sleep who would otherwise be on the streets. But with COVID-19 restrictions discouraging communal sleeping within homeless shelters, the charity needed to adapt to the pandemic.

The island of Jersey has a new tool in its covid-19 testing toolbox: a laboratory built inside a shipping container, which can process 2000 reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests every 24 hours. It was delivered to a car park behind Jersey’s only airport in July.
